What we store on your device, and why.
Mint Souq uses a small number of cookies. We don't run third-party advertising trackers or sell data to data brokers. Here's the full list of cookies the site sets:
Strictly necessary
PHPSESSID
Set on every visit. Used to keep you logged in across pages and to maintain CSRF protection on form submissions. Lifetime: session only (deleted when you close your browser, or after 24 hours of inactivity).
ms_csrf
Used together with PHPSESSID to prevent cross-site request forgery on POST actions. Lifetime: session only.
Functional
ms_country
Remembers your last-selected country so subsequent searches default to your region. Lifetime: 30 days. Optional — we work fine without it.
ms_lang
Remembers your language preference (English / Arabic). Lifetime: 365 days.
Analytics
We use lightweight server-side analytics — counting page views, tracking which categories perform well, anonymising IP addresses. We don't load Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party tracker. No analytics cookies are set on your device.
Advertising
None. We don't run ad networks. The only "ads" on Mint Souq are listings sponsored directly by users (those listings are paid through Mint Souq Escrow and shown with a clear "Sponsored" label) and Amazon affiliate links on category pages — those use Amazon's own cookies if you click through, governed by Amazon's policy.
How to clear cookies
You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings (Chrome: Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data). Clearing PHPSESSID logs you out and you'll need to sign in again. Clearing the others restores defaults.
